National Geografic is well known by its many televised movies and stories with superb pictures from wildlife and nature. The organization also publishes books. A few years back I read a book on the Blue Nile.
Now I have read a book by the couple Dereck and Berley Joubert who do a lot of filming in Souther Africa. In this book they relate, in bounds and leaps, the story of filming wildlife in the northern part of Botswana. They describe the periode 1978 – 1996 about their life in tents and cars, waiting for hours and days for the right shot at the right moment. They also tell about the commercial side of their work, for in order to keep on doing what they are doing best they need a proper income.
