beyond chinua achebe

Just a few days ago the famous Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe passed away. He was one of the giants of African literature, due to his own writings and due to the opportunity he gave to other writings as an editor with the African Writers Series.

But Achebe is not the only one. Others are around. Two curators from the African Art Museum have given their preferences on Smithsonian.com. To me Smithsonian rings a bell diverting my attention to American folkmusic, buth the bells for others as well.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
