review THE WHITE LIONS OF TIMBAVATI

Chris did scientific research on lions, as part of his university studies. The area where he did his research was the farm his father owned in South Africa. During the days of his research he discovered two white lioncubs. Very remarkable. He focusses more and more on these white lions, the exceptions, who are both from the same mother and father. Even after two years these young animals are still white. Later on he comes across another white lioncub, from different parents.

In this book Chris writes about the long long hours on the road at his father’s farm looking for traces of the special lions. These animals do not stick to the boundaries set by men, so they walk into other people’s property..

There are many beautiful pictures in this book.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
