ein nobelpreisträger wird korrigiert

I never came across his name in a list of African writers who won the Nobel Prize for Literature. Still the writer Albert Camus was born in Africa, in Algeria to be precise, to be more precise in Mondovi (now Dréan). Two years ago the local authorities placed a plaque at the house where he was born.

Albert Camus wrote and wrote against the colonial rule of the French, but still it took a long while to get some recognition in his native country. His book “L’Étranger”(1942) is still being read, but now two Algerian writers had a closer look at this book and each one of them wrote another book, connected to Camus.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
