endangered archives in ethiopia

The posts in this blog are mainly devoted to new books, new magazines, new interviews, new writers, new publications.

BUT let us not forget about the old. And when I write old in this post I am not writing about old in the sense of a few years, not even a few decades, but in the sense of a few centuries.

The history of the churches in Ethiopia dates back to the early years of the history of the Church. For many centuries people have worshipped in their churches, they developed their liturgies, they wrote their books, they added a different touch to the worldwide church.

Their books are a treaures. Not just for worshippers, but also for historians.

The project Endangered Archives focusses on many endangered archives. It has projects in Ethiopia as well. Just follow this link and see the beauty of old Ethiopian books and archives.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
