skinless goat in somalia

There is a longstanding relationship between the Indian subcontinent and East Africa. The relationship has not always been an easy one. Many people from the subcontinent moved to East Africa. Some came to work at the railroad from Mombasa to lake Victoria. Others came to trade.

There has also been a move in the other direction, a much smaller stream. In the 19th century freed slaves from  East Africa were brought to India to settle there, some returned to the African coast, others decided to stay in India.

Here you find part of a story of a Somali who went to India to study, he gets to know a young Indian lady. Read about Omar and Sunita.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
