Most books I buy are used-books. Sometimes these books are wellread books, sometimes I think that no-one has read a particular book. It saves a lot of money. For the price of one new book I buy ten or even more used books. There is a disadvantage: I do not buy the newest books. An advantage: I come across books that are no longer available in bookshops (not even in a webshop).
People in Khartoum (Sudan) like to buy used books at the market. Recently the government clamped down on writers, but the market for secondhand books is still available. Read more about this market and enjoy the pictures.
