unpoliced literary exchange

This is a nice article on the art of translation, or should I say, adaptation?

Samah Selim talked about this topic last month in the Egyptian capital city Cairo. She has focused on novels published in Egypt in the 19th and 20th century.

Samah Selim is a translator herself (English <> Arabic). Presently she lectures at Rutgers University (New Jersey, United States of America).

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
