winner of 2014 etisalat prize

There is a dicussion on the value of literary prizes. For some the famous and wellknown prize is the Cain Prize is a kind of foreign prize, settled outside the continent.

imagesMaybe we should have a closer look at a more local literary prize, to be more specific Nigeria. Tonight the winner will be announced for the 2014 Etisalat Prize. One Nigerian and two South Africans are in the running for the 15,000 British pounds (not Nigerian Naira, so a bit of a non-Nigerian, non-African prize).

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
