presenting antjie krog

During the days of apartheid-politics in South Africa some writers took their pen and wrote their works, defying the winds of political convenience. They made their opinions clear. Some books and writers were banned. Some stayed, other crossed borders.

What happened with Afrikaner literature in the post-apartheid days? One of the voices is the poetical voice of Antjie Krog. She wrote poems, did journalistic work, wrote bio.

Anthea Garman took a close look at the work of Antjie and wrote a book about it.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
