la controverse charlie hebdo

The Congolese writer Alain Mabanckou (who lives and works in the United States of America) has decided to be present at the awardgiving ceremony of PEN America. This organization has awarded the editorial board of the French satirical magazine.

Six writers have decided to boycot the event, two writers from Africa among them (Taiye Selasi and Teju Cole). Alain Mabanckou explains why he will be present.

Dénoncer "l'arrogance française" dans l'affaire Charlie Hebdo-Le Pen America? Comme de reprocher "au zèbre d'avoir des zébrures et à la tortue de porter sa carapace", selon Alain Mabanckou.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
