ngugi wa thiong’o lectures

He was back at the place where he used to be and work and lecture and be a professor. The place is Kenyatta University in Nairobi, the city in the sun.

Ngugi wa Thiong’o is on a visit to Kenya. His famous novel ‘ Weep not child’ was published fifty years ago. He went to see president Uhuru Kenyatta, who was a small boy when Ngugi was in prison, during the days that the old Kenyatta was president.

At the University he gave a talk and one of the listeners and followers was James Murua (by the way James has not discarded his name, like Ngugi did, he was first called James Ngugi). He wrote his impressions.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
