owuor wins literary prize

She has done it!

Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor has won the Textbook Centre Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature. It was her novel DUST that gained her this prize. The book started as a short story and won the Caine Prize for African Writing in 2003 (12 years ago !). The prize money for Yvonne is Kenyan Shilling 300,000.
