beasts of no nation

Uzodinma Iweala wrote the book ‘Beasts of no nation’ , the story of a child-soldier in an unmentioned country, set in Africa. I was very impressed by this book.

Now the book has been made into a movie, a movie shot in Ghana. Abraham Atta, who stars as the young soldier got a prize at the festival at Venice. The role of The Commander is played by Idris Elba (the next James Bond?).

When you want to see the movie you can turn to Netflix.

When you want to read more about the movie you can turn to this article (warning: in Dutch!).
