fatima mernissi obituary

It was just last month that I bought a book written by writer and sociologist Fatima Mernissi. She writes about her life in an islamic context, about feminism, about women. She was raised in a harem in the Moroccon town of Fez.

Now this Fatima has passed away.

Fatima Mernissi, right, talks to Prince Felipe of Spain after having been awarded the Prince of Asturias Prize for Letters in 2003.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
