who should I write for – Nigerians, Africans, or everyone?

Who you have in mind when you write a poem, a novel, short story? Do you think of your aunt, your friends, the people in your village or town? Or do you have national ambitions with your writing?

The Nigerian writer Chigozie Obioma writes in this article in the British newspaper The Guardian about his readers. Will it be Nigerians, or doe he have a worldwide focus while sitting at his desk?
