Female literary icon, Onyebuchi Emecheta

An era has passed with the passing away of the Nigeria born writer Buchi Emecheta. She was an early voice in the world of African literature. She moved at an early age to the United Kingdom, the colonial masters. There she felt a second class citizen. She wrote her new world and how she fitted in and did not fit in. Her books were widely, not just in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
