How Achebe’s four books have traced Africa’s transition

A few more days to go to remember the death of Chinua Achebe four years ago. Chinua Achebe, the Nigerian writer, who spent many years in the United States of America, was an important writer. Already before the demise of the colonial days in Nigeria he published his first book and many more followed. Many of them are part and parcel of the African literary legacy. Many students have read and studied his books.
