Of poets and critics

There is a critical relationship between poets and critics. Sometimes a critic will denounce a work of poetry, and later on this very poet will rise to fame. In this article an example is given of the American poet Walt Whitman. In Nigeria it seems people love poetry. Teniola Tolade writes about this issue in relationship to the longlist of the NLNG Prize for Literature. There is some poetry on this longlist.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
