Remembering Okigbo fifty tears on

Many years went by since I read Ali Mazrui’s book on the Nigerian poet Christopher Okigbo. Opinions on this book were divided. Was it possible that East met West? Dit Mazrui understand the motives of Okigbo in his political actions?

Many years ago Okigbo died (Mazrui has passed away as well by now) but memories still linger and this article will take you back to Ibadan and Okigbo and Soyinka.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
