What is the role of a library in society? Many schools do have a library, be it very small, be it large. Some of them stocked by give-aways, others stocked by the latest publications, due to sufficient funds. Some communities start a local library, to help young and old to expand their horizon. 

What is the role of government? Should every country have a National Library, in which all the books published in this country should be available. A National Library can also be a central hub in research, due to the availability of resources. 

In Nigeria work is still in progress to build a National Library in the capital city Abuja.  But what will be its function?
