Ceridwen Dovey: ‘When you take up your pen, you’re taking up a position of power’

Ceridwen DoveyWhat is your position of power when hardly anyone reads your book?, I thought when I read the title of this article. Ceridwen was born in South Africa but moved to Australia. In her book she touches about issues like ‘white privilege’, a popular topic. I assume that when we have talked and written and read and once again and again we will write about black privilege in some African countries or in some communities outside Africa. Or tribal privileges in for instance Kenya.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
