How Representation in Children’s Books is a Powerful Tool in Uganda

Aidahs place-51Writing for children is a rewarding activity. An important question is, however, how children will relate top these stories. Will children read about children they can relate to or are these children in the books from a very different world? I do not want to say that strangeness should be avoided in a children’s book, for the world should be explored sooner or later.
