The debate is not new. Chinua Achebe is considered to be one of the greatest writers coming from the African continent. His novel ‘Things fall apart‘ celebrates its 60th birthday this year. This should be cause for celebrations. But the Ghanaian writer Ayi Kwei Armah has some other opinions on the works of Chinua Achebe and the African Writers Series, that has been so instrumental in giving a voice to many budding and flowering African writers.
