Kwame Anthony Appiah on the Complications of Identity

The Ghanaian writer and researcher Kwame wrote a book about a young boy from the Gold Coast who was brought to one of the principalities of present day Germany. The journey took place hundreds of years ago. A black boy in a white world of privilege. He entered those circles and he became part of those circles of Enlightment. Appiah focusses on the identity and the complications and multiplicity.

In this recording you will hear an interview with the writer.

I enjoy reading about Africa. New books. Old books. By African writers. By non-African writers. Novel. History. Travel. Biographies. Autobiographies. Politics. Colonialism. Poetry.
